CWC - The True Meaning of Christmas

Happy Wednesday!  Over at Cooking With Cricut, we are celebrating the true meaning of Christmas.  Year after year, people have debates and discussions about the Christmas season and what it truly means to celebrate Christmas.  Is it truly the birth of Christ? The calendar is different so there is no way to celebrate the actual day.  How could a virgin birth occur?  It's medically impossible.  Gifts. No gifts.  Santa Claus.  No Santa Claus.  The debates go on and on.

Well this I know...I believe that Jesus is who He says that He is.  I don't fully understand the miracle of His birth, life, or resurrection but I do believe that they all happened.  I believe it just as I believe that the first president of the United States of America was George Washington, though I was not there.

Isaiah 9:6 states, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor , The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."  For my project today, I focused on the last bit of that scripture, Prince of Peace.  I have personally experienced this peace that passes all understanding and know have valuable it is when you are at your wits end.

I stamped images on a candle using a technique from a tutorial found over at Splitcoast Stampers.  It was super easy.  My candle simply says Peace on Earth.  It has the image of a dove and on the back a scene from a forest that is very peaceful to me.  The stamp set was is one that I picked up at Michael's.  I added ribbon to the bottom of the candle for added interest.  The white ribbon says joy.  I finished the candle off with Stickles to accent certain portions of the stamped image.  I hope you enjoy and will try this technique on a candle.  It really is super easy, your probably have the needed items at home, and you can turn any candle into a work of art for a last minute gift.

May you and your family enjoy the true meaning of Christmas and have a blessed and prosperous New Year.

Happy Scrappin'!
