BIRTH MONTH Featured Artist - Jani

Happy Friday! I'm SOOOOO excited! For this entire month of October, I'm celebrating my birthday by showcasing some of the wonderful scrappy friends that I have met. This has been a wonderful journey for me since I started blogging in June of last year.  Who would have thought that I would meet so many wonderful people via the internet.

Today, we have Jani.  She's an amazing artist and very positive.  You'll love her work.

Here is her project and a bit about her.  Enjoy her project. Be sure to stop by her blog, Paper Complusions, and show her some love.

I am extremely honored that Christel is allowing me to be a part of her birthday celebration. I have worked along side her on a design team, blog hops, and participated in some of her monthly swaps. I think that she is not only very talented, but she is also a wonderful Christian lady that I am very proud to know.

I have been crafting in some form or another since I was a little girl. I have always loved paper crafts. In fact the best birthday present I ever got was a box full of paper when I was 6. Most of my crafts these days are in the form of cards and paper flowers that I make. I also enjoy making my own SVG cut files. My theory is that I am decorating my little corner of the world one piece of paper at a time:)

For my project, I made a center step card with some of Christel's favorite colors.(Purple and red) I used some patterned paper that I love from a K and Co. paper pack called "Que Sera Sera". It has reds and purples in the paper although the purple does not show up well in the picture. I used Recollections card stock for the base and added a butterfly that I cut from one of the SVG files that I made. The roses are cut from white cardstock with one of my cut files. I use TH Distress Ink to color the petal shapes and leaves. Then I shape and mold the little pieces of paper into pretty flowers. (They last a lot longer than real ones so I can enjoy them longer :) I finished the card with a bow that I made from seam binding and Glimmer Mist.

Happy b-day month Christel! Hope you enjoy it.
