For Fun Challenges - No Goodbyes

Happy Wednesday and welcome to my farewell posting with For Fun Challenges. As you may know, things have been a bit chaotic for me, so I have made the decision to step down from the design team of For Fun Challenges.  I will truly miss the lovely ladies on the team and wish them all the best.

Today's challenge is sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads.  The design team received some WONDERFUL digital stamps with which to work. Please stop on over and check them out.  This week's winner will receive five digital images of their choosing. You must use two different ribbons.  So, please join us for the challenge.  We want to see what you're working with.

I chose to work with the artist bear.  My daughter who battles autism, loves to draw. Her birthday was in June and I wanted to make a special card for her.  This digital stamp matched perfectly.  It's a simple card with unique accents which may it just perfect for her.  I hope you enjoy my creation.

Here's one of my all time favorite songs for your viewing pleasure. Until next time, happy scrappin'.  I love you and there ain't nothing you can do about it!

For Fun Challenges DT Project - flowers or Mother's Day

Happy Wednesday and welcome to another edition of Christel makes a card.  LOL!!! I'm in a silly mood this morning.  Hopefully it overshadows the gloomy mood that has been trying to get me down.

So, this week's challenge is to create a project using flowers or something for Mother's Day.  Our sponsor is the wonderful Paper Shelter.   I'll post a link when I return home.

Here is my card made with one of their very cute images.  It's a simple gatefold card that follows the sketch with a twist posted for this week's challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps.  I hope you will stop in over at For Fun Challenges and enter our weekly challenge and see what my wonderful DT sisters created for your viewing pleasure.

Many scrappy hugs to you.

P.S. Please don't think I have forgotten about my prizes for this past weekend's blog hops.  I had death in the family and it threw me all off schedule.  I will post the winners just as soon as I can sort through everything.  Thank you for understanding.

Easter - DT Project

Happy Wednesday.  As we celebrate the Passion Week  and celebrate Resurrection Sunday, I created one project for two DT assignments that fell on the same day.  This project is for For Fun Challenges and for my last project at Cooking With Cricut.  Yes that's right.  I'm no longer on the Cooking With Cricut team. BUT...Melin couldn't get rid of me that easy.  I'm now on her Design Team at PaperCraftingWorld.com so be on the lookout for plenty of projects coming in the next few months.

So for today, I wanted to create a card that celebrated Easter or as I call it...Resurrection Sunday!  Here is my card that is created with simple flourish stamps, a dove stamp, and cuts from the Wedding Cricut cartridge.  I hope you like this card.  Please know that as we celebrate Easter we are able to do so because he didn't stay dead!   Why do you look for the living among the dead? He's alive!!! Hallelujah!  That's the best news I've heard all week.

Be sure to head on over to For Fun Challenges and Cooking with Cricut to see what my DT sistas have cooked up for this week!  Scrappy hugs~

For Fun Challenges DT projects

Happy Wednesday! Today's challenge over at For Fun Challenges is to create something that includes a bunny and using a stamp from Whimsie Doodles.  I picked the sentiment digi I love the play on words. And again, I tried my hand at quilling.  I can't want to get a quilling board.  My designs will be better.  The directions came from Alli at Quilled Creations.  This woman is BAD ya'll.  Check her out if you have any interest in quilling.  It really didn't take that long.  It's easy if you have a board though.  Has to be!  Well, I hope I've inspired you.  I'm entering my card in the challenge at A Gem Of a Challenge, The Corrosive Challenge Blog, and Creative Cowgirls.  Have a wonderfully blessed day!

For Fun DT Project

Happy Wednesday! Today's challenge over at For Fun Challenges is to create something that is monochromatic green or for St. Patrick's Day. We were given wonderful images from Meljan that included a St. Patrick's Day theme. I picked the sentiment digi. I really like the meaning behind the sentiment. It's says, "May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow."
I colored the shamrock on the digi using Bic Mark-It markers. I trimmed it with the Gelly Clear Star pen.  After these dried, I used glossy accents to ad dimension.

I am developing a liking for quilling.  I fashioned a shamrock using my new quilling kit. I know it looks like a flower but I promise it's a shamrock.  Work with me people! I know I have a long way to go but I'll keep practicing. I used Glossy Accents to add a glassy/glossy appearance.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

For Fun Challenges - DT Project & Challenge Entry

Happy Wednesday! Today's challenge over at For Fun Challenges is a color challenge. In honor of Mardi Gras, we are to use the colors purple, gold, and green.  I participated in a hop this past weekend with Paper Tree House and the scripture that was the secret phrase for the hop was the inspiration for my card.  It says, "Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all they ways acknowledge Him and He shall make your paths straight."  That's Proverbs 3:5-6 and it's one of the scriptures that keeps me sane!

Now, during Linda's birthday (http://www.myquillingnest.com/) celebration last month, I won my first quilling kit.  So...I decided to try my hand at quilling.  How did I do?  Well...I kinda racked up last month because I also won a paper stack from Nicole (http://www.creativedelightsbynicole.blogspot.com/) of which you see a sheet of cardstock featured on this card.  I really like the green paisley paper.  The stack is by DCWV.

The sentiment was created on my computer.  I really love the braided cord which I found at my Joann's which is moving next month.  The fibers were buried deep in a box somewhere in all our moving stuff!

I do hope you like my card and my first attempt at quilling.  Please head on over to the blog and check out my DT Sister's inspiration. I've seen it and once again, there's a lot of eye candy. What are you waiting on? Go ahead. I promise you'll love it. Enjoy!!!signature

My debut as a For Fun Challenges DT member

I'm honored to announce that I was asked to join the lovely ladies at For Fun Challenges.  There are weekly challenges that are posted on Wednesdays.

Today is the reveal of my very first project.  Our challenge this week is to create a project that follows the recipe.  The recipe is to use 3 different papers, 2 buttons or brads, and 1 image.  I choose to make a simple card with a cute Bugaboo image.

I wanted to keep this card simple. I used my new Ultra-fine Bic Mark-It markers to color the image.  I loved how it turned out. I them cut several mats for the picture and sentiment out of scraps.  Using my white Signo gel pen, I added some doodling around the picture and sentiment. The sentiment says Happy Birthday. I know you can't see it BUT her dress and purse are all blinged out.  Well...I hope you can see where I incorporated the recipe.  The only one that might be difficult is the button or brad.  Can you find it?

Well...that's all I have for today.  I hope that you will have a wonderful week.  Hop on over to For Fun Challenges and show us what you workin' wit!  Until Friday when I'll reveal a project for Family Fun Fridays, be blessed!  Happy scrappin'!
