Create a Critter Challenge

Christina over at Card Creations by C is having her very 1st challenge. You have to create a card, layout, or some other crafty idea with a Create a Critter theme. Well, here's my snail from the Paisley cartridge. She's blinged out and enjoying the journey. I know that when we are sick we are not enjoying anything then but sometimes that is the time when we need to be still and enjoy the ride. So...enjoy!!!

Happy scrappin'! Love ya to life.

Southern Girls Challenge DT Call

Well, I'm at it again. I am applying for a spot on the Southern Girls Challenge DT. The card that I have created for this call is a simple missing you card. The base is a white cardstock with the dimensions of 4.25 x 5.5. On that is metallic blue cardstock cut at 4 x 5.25. Then I created flowers using my Cricut Serenade cartridge. The flowers are created using the same cut which was cut out 3 times for each flower. These were layered at alternating positions and held in place with a cute metal flower brad. Each layer was pressed through my crimper for added texture. On the end of the petals I added diamond Stickles for added "blingage". I pop dotted the flowers in opposite corners on the card. The Inkadinkado sentiment is stamped using silver Stampabilities pigment ink and the edging on the card was done with a metallic gold [didn't have silver :-( ] pen. I hope you enjoy the card!
My daugther asked, "Are you going to send this to Daddy?" We all miss Daddy. ;-( I don't think though that he'd appreciate the cutsey flowers. LOL!!!

Paper Cutz Challenge #53

Paper Cutz challenged the scrapping world to create a card, LO, or craft project using a digital, hand stamped, or Cricut cut image of a monkey, skunk, squirrel, or hedgehog. I created this card for the hubster because he is so special. We're finally moving to the same city after a 1 and 1/2 of living in two different cities because of work. He's been a trooper and it has not been easy. The kids and I can't wait. So, I wanted to send a little love his way during this time of transition.

Card Recipe:

Sentiment printed on the computer
Monkey cut at 3 inches using the Paisley cartridge
Ribbon (I dunno)
Cardstock from the Recollections Cardstock pack

Girlfriend Challenge

Over at Cricut Me That, we were given the challenge to create anything with the theme of girlfriends. Well...I have been slacking on getting in touch with some very special friends in my life and I decided to make one a card. Though we have not lived in the same city nor do we see each other often, we manage to stay in touch with one another. We pray for each other and best buds! When we do get together, it is as though we never left.

I used the Forever Young cartridge to cut out the shows on the front cover. The actual card measurements and plan are inspired by Mary over at CardzTV. She has some great ideas and instructional videos. The pink leopard paper is from the Untamed Safari pack. You may not be able to read the card but it says, "Thanks for being such a great friend. I miss you much! Christel A friend is someone who sees through you and still enjoys the view. -Wima Askinas". I used my computer to print that out. Enjoy!

Family Fridays

Over at Crazy About Cricut, we were challenged to make something with our kids on Fridays. This is something that I really want to get into since I now have 4 children and enjoy spending time with them. Well...only one got into the spirit of things. My 8 year old daughter wanted to make a belated birthday card for her Grandma that we are visiting this week. She did a great job with the cake that was cut out on the Cricut using the Sweet Treats cartridge. She wrote her own message inside and put it together all by herself. No help from Mommy. I'm so proud of her and Grandma loves the card. Hopefully, now I'll get the others involved for the next challenge.

P.S. I tried to upload other pictures but my security is not permitting me to post pictures. I'll have to try again later.
