Lamb and Lion - Cooking with Cricut DT Project

Happy Wednesday!  Today I would like to share with you a simple yet special card that I created for this week's challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  This week, our Executive Chef challenged us to create something with the theme of lions and lambs.

My card was created using the Wild Card cartridge.  The lion is from "Cricut Sampler" and the lamb is from "From My Kitchen."  I searched and searched but there is no scripture that states that the lamb will lay down with the lion. It says in Isaiah 11:6 that the wolf with lay down with the lamb.  However, I do know of an Oleta Adams song so that's been playing over and over in my head. So, I think I'll decorate the inside with that song lyric. Well...have a wonderful rest of the week.  Scrappy hugs!

By the way, my blog candy contest ends on the 28th.  Click HERE for more information.

Swirls & Twirls - DT Project

Happy Wednesday and welcome to another challenge at Cooking with Cricut! I'm so glad you've stopped by and I hope that you are inspired by my creation. This card today is bitter sweet for me. My son's English teacher's father passed recently and we wanted to do something special for her.  She has been a wonderful source of encouragement for my son so we wanted to bless her.
I created the flower on this card using the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge (prize from Lauren at 40:31 Creations)and the sentiment is from the Wild Card cartridge. I worked with the petals to make them a bit more realistic and inked the edges for dimension.  The flower is popped off the page but I'm not sure you can tell. The kraft paper is by Recollections and the yellow paper is from my stash which I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I used the Divine Swirls embossing folder to emboss the background layer of the card for added pizazz.

Now get this.  When I was making this card, my son came up to me and said (13 years old), "Mom, I think her favorite color is yellow because she wears it a lot of it." I was so appreciative of the fact that he is attentive and trying to help me create something that he thinks she will like.  For a teenager, that's special.  I love that kid!  After putting everything together, I used Helmar's gemstone glue to place pearls in the middle of the flower. The original design for this card was inspired by Lisa over at Shabby Mommy Studio.   I like this card a lot and pray that it will bless his teacher.  Have wonderful Wednesday and I pray to see you soon.  I do have a blog hop coming up this weekend so be sure to stop by.  Blessings and Scrappy Hugs!
