My 39 & Glamourous Blog Hop

Happy Friday everyone!  Welcome to "My 39 and Glamorous Blog Hop" in honor of our hostess and my friend, Bonnie!  Be sure to show her some love! You should be arriving here from Paula's place.  Wasn't her project amazingly Glamorous as usual? If you just stumbled here and would like to hop, click HERE to go to the beginning.

Well, as the title clearly states, we are celebrating Bonnie's birthday.  I feel birthdays are such a blessing.  Happy birthday Bonnie!  I really hope you enjoy it to the fullest.
Today's hop is sponsored by: I Got Lucky Scraps, Kich N Bleus,  Shelley Bean Stamps, Tickled Pink Stamps, Scrappin Hens, Paper Craft World, and Scrappin Good Time. Now Scrappin Good Time has given Retreat tickets as the Grand Prize.  To be eligible for the Retreat Tickets, you must complete the hop AND the challenge.  There are 13 clues randomly placed on 13 blogs, as you find these, write them down, they will help you complete the CHALLENGE. Lisa at Bit By the Cricut Bug will give all the details on how to complete the challenge.  All other prize winners will be selected randomly from the comments left on the various blogs.
I decided to make a special gift for Bonnie. Now she hasn't seen it and I haven't had a chance to get it to her (which I'm so bummed about).  I KNOW she's country to the bone so I made her a boot mini album.  I used my Cricut and the Birthday Cakes cartridge to cut the boots out.  Then, I covered the pages and embellished them in ways I thought Bonnie might like and using her favorite things.  I really hope that she likes it.  If she doesn't, well...this might be the end of the Bonnie/Christel show.  Just kidding.

My keywords for the hop are DISTRESSED/GRUNGE.  This time around, I don't have blog candy but I truly enjoy reading your comments and you never know.  You may be the comment wins one of the randomly selected blog hop candies.  Now head on over to the Glamorous Norma's spot to see her Glamorous creation.  Happy Scrappin'!

Swirls & Twirls - DT Project

Happy Wednesday and welcome to another challenge at Cooking with Cricut! I'm so glad you've stopped by and I hope that you are inspired by my creation. This card today is bitter sweet for me. My son's English teacher's father passed recently and we wanted to do something special for her.  She has been a wonderful source of encouragement for my son so we wanted to bless her.
I created the flower on this card using the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge (prize from Lauren at 40:31 Creations)and the sentiment is from the Wild Card cartridge. I worked with the petals to make them a bit more realistic and inked the edges for dimension.  The flower is popped off the page but I'm not sure you can tell. The kraft paper is by Recollections and the yellow paper is from my stash which I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I used the Divine Swirls embossing folder to emboss the background layer of the card for added pizazz.

Now get this.  When I was making this card, my son came up to me and said (13 years old), "Mom, I think her favorite color is yellow because she wears it a lot of it." I was so appreciative of the fact that he is attentive and trying to help me create something that he thinks she will like.  For a teenager, that's special.  I love that kid!  After putting everything together, I used Helmar's gemstone glue to place pearls in the middle of the flower. The original design for this card was inspired by Lisa over at Shabby Mommy Studio.   I like this card a lot and pray that it will bless his teacher.  Have wonderful Wednesday and I pray to see you soon.  I do have a blog hop coming up this weekend so be sure to stop by.  Blessings and Scrappy Hugs!
