CCR DT Thursday Post

Are you ready for another super fun challenge at the Creative Cutter Room?

We have a Fun challenge for you today!

The Challenge: Create A new project with the theme Thank you, Thanksgiving or a Turkey! Super fun and easy!

I created this thank you card for my project today.  I have to mass produce these as I am behind on sending out thank you cards.  So, I wanted something I could recreate easily but would be cute.  I used the Gypsy Wanderings Cricut cartridge, Divine Swirls Cuttlebug Folder, Laurel Leaf Martha Stewart border punch, K. Andrews Positive Thoughts Stamp Set, and embossings powder.

You have until October 19, 2011 to enter your project.

I am really looking forward to seeing your project! So be sure to:

Link your new Thank you, Thanksgiving, or Turkey themed project over at the Creative Cutter Room to be entered to win a prize!
And the prize is..

A Mystery Cricut Cartridge: I promise it's one you will want to have!

These are some rules to keep in mind while playing along:
Project submissions must be new, no back linking
CCR must be mentioned in the description with a link back to CCR
Entry must fit theme to be qualified for the prize
Prize must be claimed within 2 weeks
Please link your project posting not just your blog

Splish Splash - CCR DT Project

Happy Thursday and welcome to another challenge over at Creative Cutter Room.  This week's challenge is to create a project that includes water.

For my project, I created a get "whale" card for my cousin who is in the ICU. The final card measures 4.25" x 5.5".  The whale is cut from the Gypsy Wanderings Cricut cart while the sentiment was printed on the computer and cut out using a paper punch.  Pop dots and my white gel pen helped to add the finishing touches to this card.

Now, let's see your projects.  Hop on over to the Creative Cutter Room enjoy the inspiration from my lovely DT sisters and join in the fun WITH us. This week's prize is a new Freshly Picked Cricut Cartridge. You have until September 7th to link up your project.
Well...go on now.  Don't be scared.  See you there!

I love you and there ain't nothing you can do about it.  Scrappy hugs!

Scrappin Roots Blog Hop

UPDATED SUNDAY, January 23rd

Happy Saturday and welcome to the Scrappin Roots Blog Hop hosted by Erin of SpantastiKreations.  We're going back to were it all began for most of us --- Layouts.  Everyone on the hop today has created a one or two page layout to inspire you.

If you just happened upon my blog and haven't had a chance to begin at the beginning start HERE.  I promise you'll enjoy the wonderful projects that the ladies have created.  There is some great talent here.

I created a two page layout about our trip to the birthplace of Booker T. Washington in Moneta, VA.  It was a very educational and peace trip.  The kids really enjoyed themselves.  I actually followed a sketch created by Melin over at Cooking With Cricut.  In fact, why don't you stop on by and join in the challenge.

The quotes say, "One man cannot hold another man down in a ditch without remaining down in the ditch with him.  Few things can help an individual more than to place responsibility on him, and to let him know that you trust him."

RECIPE

paper - We R Memory Keepers
tags from Tag, Bags, and More Cricut Cartridge
flowers cut at varying sizes from the
font from Gypsy Font Cricut Cartridge
photo mats cut using paper from the Recollections collection
white gel pen
raindrops created using recipe found at Kinderstampo
buttons
Tea Dye Distress Ink
homemade glimmer mist

Head on over to Christina at Crafting with Christina and feast your eyes on her creations.

FEBRUARY - Calendar Blog Hop

Happy Tuesday and welcome to the 2011 Calendar Blog Hop.  Today through the 30th we are featuring layouts that we hope will inspire you to create an album to chronicle your family's journey through 2011.    We have some amazing crafters who are sharing their LOs with you.  I hope that you will follow all the way to the end.

“The Grand Prize Blog Candy is a brand-new Designer’s Calendar Cartridge, donated by Karel at One By One The Flamingos Are Stealing My Sanity. In order to be eligible to win, you need to leave a comment on each and every stop on the hop with a way for her to contact you. She will choose a winner by random.org on the 31st and announce it on her blog, as well as contacting the winner personally.”  Please leave your email safely.

Now...please accept my sincere apologies.  I traveled to Charlotte to spend Christmas with my Mom and my sister.  I have everything laid out for my return on the 27th.  However, the 27th is Monday and not Tuesday.  UH!!!!  So, I am off a day.

Please bare with me.  As soon as I return on Tuesday, I am going to upload the pictures of the layout.  You can choose to come back or leave a comment now to be entered into the grand prize drawing. I will have a small surprise pack for one commenter.  You don't have to be a follower to win but I do enjoy making new friends and promise you won't be disappointed if you do. The winner will be selected using Random.org on January 1.  The winner will have one week to claim the prize so be sure to come back and see if you won.

Also, starting in January 2011, I am planning on hosting swaps.  If you'd like to participate, you will need to be a follower.  My blog will be the main way I communicate updates and notices concerning the swaps.
Now on to my project for the hop...I selected the month of February.  For my layout, I choose the main colors of black, white, and red. There are some interesting holidays and events in the month of February.  My left page highlights some of these holidays as well as three photo mats that can be used to mount pictures of events that occur in the month.   On the left is a calendar that created using my new Gypsy.  I even included a rabbit for the Chinese New Year and a groundhog for Groundhog's Day.  I used the following Cricut cartridges to complete this project - Camp Out, Cricut Classic Font, Cricut Sampler, Cuttin' Up, Destinations, Sesame Street - Elmo's Party, Gypsy Wanderings, and Mini Monograms.  I have even included a flower I created following the wonderful tutorial by my wonderful friend, Melinda at Scrapbook Eden. She has some phenomenal tutorial.  I believe that's it.  If I get back and find out I didn't cover everything, I'll be sure to update the post.
